There's a grows of seven and eight-year-olds known as the Seaforth Novice team. under the leadership of coach Bill Weber. who are giving their best to the game. There are 14 boys on the team .this year. What they tuck in skating skills they make lap for in determination. heir first game. was this-past Friday in Milverton. Although their play en_ the weekend was much improved it was one period in each. game that beat them. On Friday night they were downed 5-2 by the defending Ichampian Belmont Bombers. In that gable the Centenaires played two strong periods but might just as well of stayed in the dressing room for the -third period with the excep- tion of goalie Dan McClure.... Belmont outshot them 18-4 in the third but managed only two goals. The third period Saturday night was nearly the same as 4 the Exeter 'Hawks outscored the Centenaires 3-0 in 'the final frame to emerge as 6-3 winners. Despite that loss, it was •by far the Centenaires best effort of the season. With a few breaka around the net the Centenairescatild • just as• easily won as the Hawks. They are in• Exeter on Friday night for an 8:30 game while on Sunday they play the same Hawks' in Hensel{ in a 7:30 start. We lost a number of girls from last year's championship team to the senior's this year, and we wish• them well. Our junior team has some new recruits that look very promising.
