South Carolina in our last
band trip, a couple of weeks

The Staff Sew 'N Sews are
busy finishing their vests and
skirts. The seven beginners
have been learning all about a
sewing machine along with
making the required sam-
ples.
At a work meeting held at
Sheila Riley's members
learned how to apply a facing
and different sewing terms
such as grading. understitch-
nig. clipping and fusible
interfacing were illustrated.
Hems were the topic at
meeting #5 when all the
4-H'rs amde a sample. A
business-meeting will beheld'
at Vivitn's, on November 41
and applying bias tape will be
the topic.

closed, another might have

hair is not quite the way they
would iike it. Whatever, there
are always problems.

Public school: We'd line up in
front of the mirror and adjust
our barettes and hair just so
that it would look right when
-we got our pictures back.
Then. we'd practice smiling
the way that we thought
looked best for a picture. It
seemed like endless prepara-
don for * few minutes worth
of work.
While waiting in line to get
my picture taken, I would
listen to the comments of my
classmates as they aot their
teens,
