difference a week can make.

many leaves still on the
trees.
Residents of Seaforth
Manor 'Nursing Home and
Queensway Nursing Home
were entertained with an
evening of old tyme, music
and dancing Monday. Music
was supplied by Mrs. Gladys
Van Egin.Ond. Mr. Elgin
Not; Mr. Art Finlayson and
vocal selections were by Don
Traviss of Clinton. Nearly
fifty residents assembled
joined in, singing many old
favourites and by request the
orchestra ,played "Wasn't
That a Party" which many
enjoyed dancing to. Ac-
companying Queeniway Re-
sidents were Grace and Ross
Sararas and daughter Jodi.
Charles Ross expressed
thanks to the orchestra and
Queensway foij being our
guests and refreshments
were served.

ducted by Rev. Archie Ro-
bertson on Wednesday. Ac

the bazaar.

Mrs. EvelynCarter, who is
head'cook at Seaforth Manor,
also underwent surgery in
Stratford Hospital and resi-
dents and staff wish her well.
Rev. L. Duke will be
conducting an inservice on
Thursday morning with staff
wreaths for Clinton and Blyth
for November 11.
Walton Unit
meets
The Thanksgiving meeting
of the unit was held at the
home of Mrs. Don Fraser on
October 14 with 7 Members
present. Mrs. Jim Fritz
opened devotions. Mrs. Fritz
gave a very appropriate topic
on "Thankfullness," re-
minding that each day we
should be thankful. We live
in a land of so much plenty,
each one of us should count
our blessings.
She also told a story of a
young minister and his wife
in the poor years of 1879 and
how they endured his life
with their courage.
Mrs. Doug Fraser was in
charge of the business. Min-
utes were read by Mrs. Alvin
McDonald in the absence of
secretary, Mrs. John Davies.
In the announcements, the
U.C.W. executive will meet
on NoVember 19. The Ob-
servers are $4.00 this year
and church calendars will
again be available. Plans
were made for the turkey
supper at the church on
November 4. "
On the churdh calendar it
was reported that Mrs. Jean
Broadfoot has been in Sea-
forth hospital. It is hoped she
will soon be able to return to
Huronview. Mrs. Sadie Mc
Donald hopes to get home
from hospital this Week.
Mrs. W.J. Kealy of the 16th
concession of Grey is still a
patient in Seaforth Hospital.
