The October meeting of
the Seaford* Horticultural
Society was held at Seaforth
Public School on Wed., Oct.
14. President Pat Rodney
welcomed everyone. 'A lib•
ray cart has been ordered •
and it is hoped it will be
ready for the next meeting.
Mary McLeod reported on
the meeting with Ray Hale • -
yard of Royal Botanical Gar-
dens who was in town
helping to start hortitherapy
at the nursing homes here.
Mrs. Rodney asked for
volunteers for the float com-
mittee who need help. Nancy .
Kale then introduced the
guest speaker Steve Hilde-
brand Who dernonstrated
dried and silk flower arrang-
ing. The table arrangemetit
he made was won by Mrs.
Joe Nigh, while Helen Nett
won the corsage. Several
other door prizes were drawn
for and a soeititime follow-
ed. The next meeting will be
our annual meeting and will
be held at the. PlOtte school
on Nov. 11. The committee
chairman will hand la their,
reports for the yearbook. The
nominating committee , are
bard at work filling their
roles. Katie Kerslake of
Staffs will be the guest
speaker and demonstrate
wheat Ikeaving.

Church held their October
, meeting in the Sunday School
—room of the church with the
Dukes and Browns in charge.
The president, Viola Law-
son, opened the meeting.!
Minutes were read, • by
secretary Henrietta Brown.
John Patterson took up the
offering and the Treasurer's
report was read by Henrietta
Brown id the absence of Peg
Grieve, the treasurer.
The Scotts and the Reiths
are in charge of the Nrem- - ber meeting.
The theme for the Worship
was —Born to Praise.'
"Ceme Let Us Worship" was
read by Henrietta Brown
followed by a prayer in unison
led by Charlotte Duke. Will-
iam Brown read the scripture.
Rev, Duke introduced the
speaker Jean Lawrence of
London who showed pictures
and told about the Galapagos
Islands, off Peru, a trip down
the Amazon and showed the
Lost Inca Empire.
Henrietta Brown thanked
Miss Lawrence and gave her
a gift.

showed slides on her recent
trip to the Holy Land. She
told of the contrast in the
geological terrain and show-
ed pictures of it. The Sea of
