at a fastball tournament in
Zurich cm the weekend.
Twelveteams were entered
in the three-day tourney. The
Villagers beat Exeter Carpet-
baggers 5-3 in the final. They
advanced to that final by
winning their first three

St. Columban;-for a family
soccer day. Each team played
their parents. or family mem-
bers, and most games ended
in a tie.
Due to the nice weather
some parents were unable to
attend. Those that did had an
enjoyable day. Each game
was followed by refreshments
and a barbecue. St. Colum-
ban Minor soccer executives
would like to thank all those
people and children who
attended and participated
• and. made- a-fun -occasion for
all. Our teams still have two
tournaments to play this
season.
St. Columban defeated San
Bartolomeo Saturday 4-2 and
in doing so got a strangle hold
on first place in the LOndon
and District Soccer Associa-
tion's second division. With
three games remaining in the
schedule, St. Columban
needs one win to clinch first
place.
Saturday's game saw St.
Columban trailing in the early
minutes, as San. Bartolomeo
was awarded.. p,enalty shot,
and took. 179.1iesr1.
CqIumban was not to be
outdone and Bill Docking
scored to tie the game.
Minutes later Tony Gibbings
scored on a beautiful shot for
a 2-1 St. Columban lead.
The second half saw St.
Columban score two more

high .single (261) and high
triple (677) for the men. Judy
Scarrow took ladies high
