In recognizing the contribution which
SEAFORTH
CANADIAN TIRE
has. made to the Seaforth Community, we recall those who
particpated in the firm's progress during the more than thirty
years in which it has served area shoppers.
Established here in 1950 by the late Gar Smith, the business
later waS'epVated by Wm. Smith until in 1967 it was sold to —
Fred W. Tilley. Mr. Tilley took part in a number of
organizations and served on: a number a Main Street business _
committees. On his retirement early this year the hilliness was
purchased• by B.C. Winsor Holdings Ltd. -
We welcome Byron. Winsor of Canadian Tire as. a fellow
Seaforth merchant and wish the firm many years of sucdess on
Seaforth's Main Street,

PRESENT CANADIAN TIRE -- Seaforth Canadian Tire has had
three changes of ownership and has been in ;two locations since if was
opened in 1950. In 1974 manager Fred Jilley moved thestore from centre
Main Street to the empty Boshart . Furniture factory el., the corner of
Main and Crombie Streets. After extensive renovatinns this is what the
