Furniture factory beginning in,1934. Until the
factory cloSed in 1968, the Bosharts produced
fine furniture here. In 1974 the building was
renovated by Fred Tilley to become the new'
location of the Seaforth Canadian Tire store.

The survey covets approximately 1,400

survey supplies information about door
widths, aisle mobility. parking. steps. curbs.
and washroom facilities.
After a building was surveyed, a descrip-
tion to its facilities' was sent to the manager.
Mr. Huyck said about 10 per cent of all
managers phoned about corrections.
The Huron Day Centre for 'the Home-
bOund. in connection with the Action League
for Physically Handicapped Adults in Huron
(ALPHA-HURON) will distribute the guides
to handicapped residents in the county. Mr.
Huyck estimated there are 350 handicapped
residents in Huron. One thousand copies will
be printed, and SO copies will go to the March
of- Dimes.
The remainder of the guides will be placed
in libraries. n Huron County, across Canada
and the- United States, Mr. Huyck says a
...library in MOntreal has requested a copy.

The cost for producing the guides is not
covered by the grant. Mr. Huyck hopes the

Council names

Seaforth council has named a representa-
tive councillors A If . Ross, to, a local &pup_
which hopes to set up a transWatIon system
for disabled people in the area.
Grant money is available from the
provincial ministry of transportation and
communications and clerk Jim Crocker who
attended an earlier meeting said a van would
be bought and maintained, and then operated
by volunteer drivers.
The group hopes to persuade the ministry
to use the Seaforth area as a pilot project.
The clerk eitplained the van wouldn't be on
call but wcluld provide transportation to
various recreation and medical services.
Estimated capital cost for a van with a lift is
. $16.000 to $18,000.
The group has been meeting at the home of
Alfie Dale in Seaforth.
