She was in her 83rd year.
Daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. James Gilchrist. She
was the last surviving mem-
ber of the family, and a dear
friend of Mrs. Ellen Thom-
son, Hensall. .

The Parker-Keyes reunion
was held Saturday afternoon
at the Hensall Community
Park with 46. attending.
Winners of races and sports
were; Race five-and-under,
Carla Dalton; six to nine,
Suian Shawyer; 10 to 14,
Craig Cudmore; 15-andover,
Randy Parker; 10-arid-under
kick the shoe, Susan Shaw-
yer; 11-and-over kick the
shoe, Randy Parker; wheel-
barrow race, Carla Dalton
and Don Dalton, and Carla
Brown and Marg Ruston;
relay race. Randy Parker's
team; clothes-pin race,

Council also endorsed a
resolution from the Township

Olive ;Murray fell back-
wards off the clothesline
stand • last Tuesday and
broke her left arm. She *as
confined to hospital for a
week because the break was
near her shoulder and could
not be put in a cast. Her
friends hope she is on the
Mend and resting more com-
fortably.
Brian Chesell has receiv-
ed his private pilot's license
after passing his _Right tests
and a written examination.
Barry and 'Pat. Taylor and
family spent a few days at
Munro Park at Powassan
with the "Chesiell family
and friends" group last
week. A couple of big bass
gave Barry a bit of a tussle.
Those big suckers make you
think you're into something
good. too, doter they, Barry?
This was the Year of the
Wildlife up north, with
skunks (you had to be
careful you didn't trip over
one), tamoons..red :squirrels
and chipmunks in camp, lots
of beaver, muskrats, foxes,
fish cranes, ducks and the
ever-present seagulls. No
sign of bears around camp,
although they were causing
problems in the whole North
Bay area.
Florence Elliott has re-
turned from a six-week va-
cation with her sons and their
families in Aurora and New
Liskeard

The parks board reports a
profit of $174.75 from a recent
softball exhibition between

Hensall Legionnaires. The
report also notes the Seaforth
Minor Hockey Association
'has tentatively booked ice
time at the Hensall arena on
Saturdays. and Sundays from
3:30 to 10 p.m. until Jan. l.
Seaforth's junior hockey team
would book at least four hours
a week until the end of their
season, The Seaforth arena
has been condemned, making
it necessary for teams in that
community to book out-of-
town ice.
Monday's council meeting
' was attended by Reeve Paul
Neiland, Clerk Elizabeth A.
Oke. and Councillors Minnie
Noakes. Cecil Pepper and'
John Skea. The next regular
meeting of 'council will be
August 19.
