ARMSTRONGS The Armstrongs came to Canada for adventure and to make their fortune in the wonderful new America. (Their graves are in the Brussels cemetery.) Richard Armstrong Walked all the way to Goderich and took oat the deed from the Crown land' for our farm. The farm was all covered' with pine trees at that time and he deared it all by hand with axes and saws and also-used horses to pull the logs out. The story also- went he even carried a stove the way from Goderich on his back •since there were no roads or good roads the time. Two Armstrong, sisters married two 'Warwick broth- ers. Richard Armstrong built the house that I am living in . There was a house at the road on one of the fields which Lewis Armstrong lived in with- Richard Arm- strong and his family. Lewis Armstrong was born in our house and so was Doris Armstrong. Lewis • Armstrong had five sisters named Esther. Dollie, Annie. Sadie, and four brothers and himself, Lewis which made S sisters and 5 brothers and 3 died when they were babies which, made 13 an together.
