Christian Church had as
cloSing program for Vacation
Bible School. Evelyn Mantel
was the organist. Bible stor-
ies were narrated and pre-
sented by Rev. Mantel and
the S. W.1. M. Team. Thank
you to everyone who helped
in any way.,
Monday. evening was the
Action Committee meeting.
Tuesday Heather Gardens
was taken on a picnic at Ben
Miller Park.
1, Thursday_ evening the
S.W.1.M. team will , be call-
ing on' families in the com-
munity as part of the C.E.T.
program. There will be four .
teams of three who hope to
share the Gospel.
Sunday the 26, Service is
at Point Farms at 11130,
' Gather at the church
between 10:00 and 10:30
then go together to Goderich.
After the service is a pot luck
dinner. Take ,along infor-
mal clothing, swim suits,
games.
We are happy and thankful
for Bruce and Nancy Linton
that Bruce found a job in
Toronto.

cing some healing with his
first degree burns. Thank
you for your- thoughtfulness
and prayers.

Team: We are halfway
through the program.
Though the time has passed
se q_uieltly, it Asp..has seemed,
like we've been here a long
time. 1 guess that's because
we feel at home here. We've
completed V.B.S. this week.
Though it was a relief to be
finished, it was a joy to see
thg 80 children return each
'day. Next week we will do
more ministry in, the Clinton
area. We W ill still be active in
Vanastra. 'See you around!
Alateen group meeting are
Sunday evenings in the Van-
astra Church.
BIBLE SCHOOL
The Vacation Bible School
at Vanastra Christian Church
came to a close Sunday
morning with a special pro-
gram:- _
The first part of the service
followed the regular liturgy.
Since the beatitudes (say-
ings) of Jesus as guidance
for Christian Living) were a
part of the .V.B.S. program.
the congregation recited
these verses in unison .fol-
lowed with singing "They'll
know we are Christian by our
love.'
Instead of the Sunday
message. the minister with
the Young People Volunteer
Group (S.W.I.M.) narrated
and acted out 'Bible Stories
on John the Baptist. Peter
the Disciple of Jesus and the
outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Next, the V.B.S. classes
made their presentations, in•
eluding tiny tots to the ones
in their early teens. It was
just great to see and hear
these children with their
shiny faces and happy
voices. It was also great to
see so many parents attend
this special program.
The first part of the audi-
torium was used for displays
by each class. It was obvious
the children And teachers put
a lot of effort into the
prograth. The crafts and
Bible Stories were just exc-
cellent this year arid so was
15,737 the staff, It was the best
Vacation Bible. School we've
had it Vana.stra Church. At-
tendance on several days hit
the 85 mark, all children
from the community. It was a
lively and happy crowd every
day. also somewhat noisy.
but who wants quiet chil-
dren? Teachers and helpers

From the Playground:
Another busy week for the
Vanastra playground pro-
gram has concluded. The
superstars competition was a
success at Vanastra and
Varna. and the play day in
Seaforth was well-attended
by children from the Eg-
mondville playground.
This past week has been
occupied with the bike hikes,
with the Vanastra and Eg-
mondville children enjoying
a bicycle ride and picnic in
the country- The .Varna chil-
dren are bicycling out to '
Bayfield on Thursday.
The trip-of-the week was
to Grand Bend and is to
scheduled to leave July 22:,
The next trip is July 31 and is
a Mystery Tour. They're not
going to tell you 'where that
one's going.! Please bring
lunch and a bathing' suit.
A' word to the wise: 'if you
haven't been to Canada's
Wonderland yet. we still
have room for August 26, but
hurry or seats will be gone'.
