The Walton Women's In-
stitute was responsible for
the July Birthday Patty at
Huronview on Wednesday
aftedrnoon. Margaret Short-
reed was M.C. for the' pro-
gram consisting of Elaine
and —Sharon Brown giving
several numbers on their
• violins, accompanied by their
mother Elva at the piano.
Tracey Bennett • pleased
the audience with her dant-
ing of the Highland fling and
the sword dance. Marion
Godkin and Mildred Traviss
sang a couple duets. The
Godkin girls, 'Donna, Nancy
and Sharon sang several
numbers _.,,accompanied by
their, mother at the piano.
- Happy birthday was sung
and birthday cards were
given out to all those having
a birthday' this month. The
afternoon was completed
with the serving of cup cakes
and tea to over one hundred
residents and friends in the
new auditorium at Huron-
view.

Mrs. Margaret Hillstrand
of Erickson. Manitoba is
visiting with Mr. and Mrs.
Campbell We y. Margaret
and Campbell are brother
and sister.
We were sorry Judy Glaus-
er's name was omitted from
the list of helpers at ;he
Vacation Bible School at
Duff's church.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Short-
reed and family and Mrs.
Isabelle Shiirtreed have been
vacationing in the north
country with stops at camp
sites at Collingwood. Hunts-
ville. Kirkland Lake and
Cochrane where they board-
ed the polar' express for an
interesting rail excursion .to
tidewaters-of-James Bay
at Moosenee and where they
were take n by canoe, tri-

land in the district. Isabelle
returned home Saturday by
bus from Towasan. Ken and
family remained camping for,
another few days.

of Italie Inc. in Listowel.
They had a tout of the
building viewing many
beautiful knit and crocheted
articles.
A lucky draw was won by
Beth Knox. The group also
toured the cheese factory
their 45th Wedding Anniver-
sary. Those attending the
dinner were Bill and Marg.

meeting July 15th 2 p.m. at
Mary Letigman's with Mary
acting as President. She
welcomed all with reading
"Life is a road".
Florence Vivian and Mary
gave readings. The minutes
and financial report.by Addie
flunking. Rot call was answ-
ered by a current event by 10
members.
Correspondence included
thanks from Dora Shobbropk
and Russell Good. The draw
donated by Laura Lyon was
won by Stella Adams. Get
well cards were signed for
Gladys Armstrong and Ida
Durnin. Next meeting will be
Group 4 on August 19th at
Beth Knox's.
Readings were by Mary
and Florence Vivian. There
were 2 contests-different
moneys by Florence was won
by Tri Duizer and name the
flowers'by Mary was won by
Addie Hunking.
The meeting closed with a
reading 'Thank you' by
Mary. Some games of cards
were played. Lunch was
served by Mary Longman
and Florence Vivian.
