GOING RAMPING? . If you were travelling west from
Winthrop to Highway 4 last Thursday, you would have seen a..
strange sight - a house moving east on•the road. Jeanine Fehr's
family was moving a house previously owned by Donald Knotts
McKillop
from the highway to her land near Winthrop. Her two sons
were on the roof, and cut any branches before they hit the
house. Ontario Hydro was also present to , remove any

ly had another black filly
born to "Honey Bee X" her
saddle-bred mare. Blacks are
fairly rare in this breed but
she has had five out of the
last eight /foals black.

The McNichols were well
represented at their reunion
held in Mitchell Park ,on
Sunday afternoon. Garry and,
Mary Anne MCNichol were in
charge of the races and
games. Several enjoyed
swimming in The pool after
supper.

received the prize for having

Misses Bess and Peg Grieve, Egmondvilk visited Mabel
lbrnbull Sunday. We find plenty to discuss of kindred
interest as our families were friends in the early days in
McKilion with both my parents and grandparents.
It is good to grow lip in the same community and.
conversation never lags or gets dull. I find living in the
same area an adVantage and interest in affairs common in
the same community.
This Postal Strike fathers cramps my style in one of my
favourite Ways of passing mY time, writing letters._ I write
to friendi anyway, so I have Malty letters put away safely
until the-strike Is over, hopefully.
Art Powell visited his neighbrier Anna Hoegy and
favoured with a basket of yellow beans from his garden.
I mentioned the mad strike. At dinner I heard that one of
the residents who is quite helples was in tears because she
doesn't receive the customary letters from her daughter. It

Thelma is back on duty today Monday, after a two week
holiday. Several of the residents are sitting on the front
lawn and she is leading them in a sing-song of familiar
hymns and old time favourites. The strains are quite
pleasant to my ear through the open window. They say it is
a hot humid day but I haven't been uncomfortable thanks
to the gentle breeze from the west.
A beautiful-bouquet of towering snap-dragon adorns our
table lb the activity roam in a variety of colours including
the dark deep red which are so rich looking. They are
displayed in an unusual container, white highlighted in
touches of gold.
The large dining room has bouquets of pink roses in
full bloom. Tice fairies again, impersonated so well by
V_Jean Ducat; rarely do we see how the flowers got there but
there they are. usually Silently and invisibly plaed.
Margaret Smile visited Bessie Smale and other
residents at Kilbarchan with news of friends of interest to
all. Jean Hildebrand with Bessie Smale,
Marie Muegge came and took her mother Anna Hoegy
for a drive and some visiting at "Huropview" Where'thely
visited Florence taidlaw, Jean Scott and Pearl McFarlane.
