The celebration of Father's
Day was a fitting start to
Senior Citizens Week at
Huronview. The church
service was held in the new
auditorium w accommodate
the Blyth Senior Choir under
the direction of Mrs. Margar-
et Kai, Next Sunday will be
Communion.
There was much greeting
of old friends and, making of
new friends as each of the
local clubs visited with us
each day this past week.
"The Three Links" from
Hensall. and "Seaforth
Happy Citizens" were greet-
ed at the door by Mrs. Muriel
Gibson -arid Mrs. Grace Peck.
They were entertained in the
afternoon by . E. Wawanosh
Public.School under the lead-
ership of Mr. Chaulk. Meet-
ing the guests on Tuesday
was Mrs. Mabel Garrow.
We had a full auditorium
for the p'rogr'essive euchre on
Tuesday afternoon. Donna,
Tyndall won the prize for
ladies high. Man's high was
won by H. Parket'. Man's
low was won by Roy Maize.
and Ladies Low by Erma
Anderson. 'Donna Tyndall
had the lucky chair 'and,
Rachel Johnston had the
most lone hands. We had a
very special treat on Tuesday
evening when Jim Lawrie
presented 'a program feattii=
ing the Country Companions.
Wayne McClinchey. Bill
Marsh, and Jim Lawrie fill-
ing for the drummer who was
on vacation. The audience
enjoyed the solos by Carol
Caldwell who accompanied
herself on the guitar. Jim
Lawr ie entertained with
several scottish selections
and his good sense of hum-
our was also enjoyed. Piper.
Rick, Elliott' accompanied by
his brother Neil on the drums
thrilled the audience. Mrs.
Elizabeth Black thanked the
entertainers for the excellent
performance. Senior Friend
ship Club from Brussels, and
Swinging Seniors from Illyth
were greeted-at the door by
Mr. Frank Bissett, on Wed-
nesday. Amcing the after-
noon performance was Alf
Simon at the piano. May.,
Godden and Ethel Sutton
singing a duet. Blyth dancer
Kim Craig, Violin Solo by
Jim 'McCall. the second part
of the program was put on by
Huronview and consisted of
Steve Cook and Wendy Kloss
sing two duets, Joanne Ver-
hoef accompanying herself
on the guitar and singing a
couple of folk songs. Bob
Hulley gave a reading and
Frank Bissett played the
piano,
Good Companions. Bay-
field Ever Young Club; Gold-
agers. and The Enterprising
Seniors enjoyed entertain-
ment by Mrs. Orville Storey
and her dancers. The pro-
gramme was in the old
auditorium and consisted of a
opening number by Nelson
Howe. Hugh Norris. and
Dolly McQuaid. Dance solos
by Sheila and Wendy Wat•
son. Song by Scott Jewitt

Carol Anne McQuaid and
Sherry Preszcator. We then
had a violin selection by the
McQuaid family. Kathy
Cooke did an Old Tyme step
dance. Shannon - Preszcator
also danced. Lorri Jewitt
sang a 'Song followed by
Madonna McQuaid's dance.
Scott Jewitt sang again and
we had a. step dance by Anne
Marie McQuaid. Lorri Jewitt
sang and the McQuaid family
finished the program.
Bill McCurdy greeted our
guests from Grand Bend and
Exeter on Friday. Marie
Flynn. Hugh. Flynn, Lorne
Lawson, Wilson McCartney.
Sthn Hillen, Warren Whit-
more entertained to a full
auditorium in the afternoon.
The group opened the pro-
gram by playing several se,:
ections. Jennifer Tyndall
and Merry.Potter did. some
step dancing followed by the
group playing again. Lisa
Storey sang a coupie of solos.
Lorne entertained the aud-
ience by playing his mouth
organ to the tunes of Red
River Valley and When You
and 1 were Young Maggie.
Crystal Brennan and Crystal
Mather's. Jennifer Burt
stepped to Whalen's. The
fiddlers joined Debbie Flynn
while she danced to Black
Velvet Waltz. Kentucky
Waltz and Off She Goes.
Hugh Hodges sang Mansion
On A Hill. Marie Flynn
played a piano Solo. Lisa
Sang A Daisy A Day, Dear.
The four girls danced to the
Whalen's. Hugh sang Blue
Eyes Crying In The Rain and
Debbie danced to Clog. Jig.
and Reel.
After the group
played several more select-
ions the program was closed
with Moonlight and Roses,
Four Leaf Clover. Good Old
Mountain Music and Smile
Awhile and Now Is The
Hours.
The draw was made by
Marie Flynn on the Ceramic
horse which was made and
donated b. y Miss Margaret
Miteheli.and won by Audrey
Moffat. We enjoyed visiting
with the. various' Senior ;Cit-
izens groups. this past week
and look forward to seeing
them again soon.
