The Agriculture and
Canadian Industries meeting
of the Walton Women's
Institute was held on
Wednesday evening, June
17 in the community hall.
The guest speaker,
Norman Alexander of
Londesboro spoke on
Conservation and Pollution
fighting giving much detail
in the problems of soil and
water erosion also flooding.
Mr. Alexander was" intro-
duced by convener,' Mr's. G.
McCall and thanked by Mrs.
H. Craig and presented .with
a gift on behalf of the
Institute.
Business was chaired by
the President, Mr. K. Rock.
Mrs. Wm. Humphries read
minutes and
Correspondence. Several
thank you letters were read
from those who had attended
the Anniversary party last
month. Roll Call - How I've
tried to conserve energy in
my home was answered by
18 members. There was one
guest present. A flag
donated by Mrs. S.
Humphries in memory of
Mrs. Margaret Humphries.

wall of the platform. A
display will be done for the

Carlow came up with a
strong game also in "A"
division eliminating Londes-
boro 18 to 2.
The Lakers came up
against stronger apposition
in their-Second-garrie-losing
squeaker to the Winthrop
Warriors 5-4.
This left the Cobras and
Carlow to play a semi-final to
decide who would play Win-
throp for the "A" division
championship. The Cobras
came up strong eliminating
Carlow Country by a score, of
13-1 on Sunday afternoon.
In "B" division action
Holmesville met nearby Clin-
ton and had an easy time
winning 26-4. Porter's Hill

a chance at their Holmesville

miracle was about to happen.
