on whether to pass a car or
not, don't rip the keys out of

A lot of people have told
me about the torture of
passing another car. I dread
the thought. One persofi told
me that she was driving from
Grand Bend on a busy Sun-
day and was told to pasS by
someone who has a licence
and knew whether it was a
good idea or not. She did as
he told her and checked to
see if a car was coming from
the other direction, she sig-

bit of thinking, For example.
is it law that you use low
beam headlights. or is it just
safety .pra4ice? It is a law
that you must use your low
heath headlights within SOO
feet of the' approach Of
another vehicle at the proper
times. Also, when may you
make a left hand turn on a
re d light? This questiort
stumped many of the mem-
bers of our family. You may
make a left hand turn on a
red light from a one way
street to a one way street
only if the way is clear, and
you have made a full stop.
One of the things that an
examiner might ask the be-
ginner to do is . 'say "WhiCh
way would you like me to
turn now, sit ?" before com-
ing to a corner or intersec-
tion. This happened to a
friend of mine on her test.
Before coming to an intersec-
tion. she turned to the in-
structor and asked the guest
ion as she was, instructed to
do so prgviogskY. As she

the car for the first time and,
fiddling around with the.

away I'll go. I guess this is
kind of a warning to the
citizens- of Seaforth who
value their lives while
they're driving: Stay off the
roads unless you definitely
have to drive, that way it will
be safer for me to drive!

drive, for at leait 16 years.
I've heard a lot of stories
about driving and the fun of
it all.
I have also heard many
stories of the tragedies
caused by careless drivers
that leaVe a 16-year-old
wondering what is going to
happen when or if they get
their licence.
A couple of weeks ago I got
the "Driver's Handbook,'
prepared and issued without
charge by the Ministry of
Transportation and Com-

This was a
great chance to learn more
about driving. licences. be-

There are many %%uses of
licences as you probably
know.
A class L licence
allows you to drive any
