MARRIED 60 YEARS—Mr! and Mrs. Frank Leslie Riley
marked their sixtieth-wedding anniversary Tuesday. June
•16 in Bournemouth England, and daughter Vivienne
Newnham of -Seaforth is visiting with them to help
celebrate. The Rileys, who have two other daughters.
Marian (Mrs. P. Maxwell) of Scotland and Sylvia I Mrs .
Britland) of England; ten grandchildren: six great-grand-
children, received a congratulatory message from Queen
Elizabeth. Murray Cardiff, Huron-Bruce MP. arranged for
the message to be sent.

speaker, Mr. Torii Morgan
from Port Stanley, who has-
one of the largest orchid
greenhouses in Canada and
carries about 10.000 orchids.
Mr. Morgan had a good
selection of orchids which -
can easily be.,grown at home.
Slides were shown of many
varieties of orchids and at the
conclusion members were
able to purchase orchid
plants.
Darwin Bannerman was
the rocky winner .of the
bucket planter and Kay
Smale won the hanging
planter.
Members are reminded of
the annual flower show
whilch will be held August 12
at Seaforth Legion Hall. •
The next meeting will be
held Sept. 9 at Seaforth
Public School when Martha
Veldeuis of Dundas will be
with us again to speak on
cacti and houseplants.

The June meeting of the
Seaforth Horticultural Soci-
ety was June 10 at the Public
School. Vice president Ruth
Beuttenmiller called the
meeting to order in the
absence of President Pat
Rodney.
The Society is planning to
have a booth at the Farmers
markets in Ally. August and

Hospital Auxiliary
adjourns 'for

At the, final dinner of the
Hospital Auxiliary, which
was held in the Board Room
cf the hospital on June 9, a
lovely meal provided by
Velma Miller was served to
35 members. A highlight of
the evening was a Mini
Penny 'Sale which netted a
profit, of $16.00.
The Fall meeting will be
held at the same place on
Sept. 8th in the form of a Pot
Luck supper at 6 p.m.
