leave of absence from his
work to go to Nigeria. Africa
for 4 months. He will per-
form volunteer work , with
Cross Roads International.
Ray had an information
meeting at the Winthrop
United Church,. on Sunday
evening.
Margie Whyte,. "who put
the bug in Ray's ear" as Ray
said was guest speaker and
everybody enjoyed Margie's
inspiring talk and slides on
her adventures, when she
went to, the Philippines in
1972' and also other interest-
ing pictures of friends she
met and many who she has
kept in touch with ovet—the
years.
She is still actively inter-
ested with Cross Roads.
Ray is looking forward
with excitement' to his four
months-overseas and says he
will take one day at a time.
Rev. James Vanslyke was
chairman for the evening.
The Winthrop Young People
led the singing and sang an
anthem. Several organiza-
tions were represented and
presented Ray with dona-
tions towards his trip. Ray
graciously acceptecithe.gifts
and thanked everybody.
Ladies of the congregation
served lunch and a social
hour was enjoyed. Songs that

The Young People, along
with the Sunday School are
planning a Youth Service
combined with the Congre-
gational Pot Luck Dinner on
the 28th June. Service will be
held at 11:00 a.m. with
Sunday School Classes and
Young People taking part.
There will be no Sunday
School on the 28th June.
Anna Dolmage took eight
prizes. 4 firsts,.2 thirds and 2
fourths at the Clinton Spring
Fair. Anna also took the
Champion Ribbon for all
Breeds of Rabbits. Anna had
11 entries of mostly New
Zealand rabbits.
