Junior Farmers help
spruce up flower beds
On Sunday afternoon you
may have noticed the two
flower beds at the entrance
to Vanastra in front of the
Municipal Offices taking
shape.
About 30 members
out of 150 Seaforth Junior
Fainters got together for
some fun and donated their
time, equipment and bought
plants to spruce up the area.
This club, whose, chairman
is Bill Anderson, is the
biggest, in Ontario. It' is the
sixth project they have done
this season for, the,Commun-
ity Betterment Project which
is part of a pretequisite to
-belong to the Province.
This is the secona year the
Junior Farmer s have plant-
ed about 200 marigolds and
they will maintain the garden
A few other projects they
have done recently are plant-
ing
the flower bed in the
front of the Seaforth Post
Office, canvassing for the
Heart Fund. teaching dance
lessons, and working at a
benefit for Brad and Sharon
Carnochan. This fall they
intend to help out at the
CiderfeSt by setting up all
the equipment and tents.
June 2 was grading night
for the Judo Club at the
Vanastra Recreation Centre.
All weight classes tried for
'their yellow belt.
In the 60.70 lb. class.
Sombath won the medal for
all-round tournament cham-
pion and also received his ••
yellow belt. Kennie Mcilveen
received his yellow belt in
this class.
Tommy Whitaker won the
medal for all-round tourna-
ment champion and received
his yellow, belt in ' the 70-90
lb. class. David Stevenson
and Kevin Smith received
their yellow belts as well.
In the 90 lb. and over class.
Alan Borate-Gelok received
his medal and yellow , belt.
George Whitaker and Say
received their yellow belts as
well. Congratulationsto all of

nament is almost here: Re-

Night of the season was held
June 5. The children enjoy-
ed. "The Puppy Who Want-
ed a Boy, Puppy's Greatest
Adventure. Our Gang, Little
Rascals"and a cartoon. John
and Nancy Ducharme. Ken-
nie ,Mcilveen. Kim Embling,
Gordon Bjerg and Keith
Ryan won a door, prize of a
one month free swim at the
Vanastra Recreation Centre.
Scott Dixon and Susan Ryan

pton College in Sarnia.
The Special Nursery for
the handicapped held in the
Vanastra Recreation Centre
has been doing its themeAm•
various farm animals. They
are working on all the animal
sounds. Every Thursday
morning they go swimming
for half an hour and really
enjoy it. - .

3:30 p.m. there will be a
service in Heather Gardens.
