chute. They did a fine job'
and let everyone within quite
a radius knew they were
singing.
After the campfire the
boys were treated to choco-
late milk supplied by the
District and made their way
back to camp.
After eating, there was no
need to teel the boys it was
bedtime. This lay had taken
its toll. Quite a difference
from the evening before
when every Cub had to make

Last Friday the 1st Vona-
stria Cub Pack went to the
District Camperee at Bentnil-
ler Falls. Most cubs arrived
by 6:39, but their cook was
late, and he had the tents.
Set up began. There was
minor confusion till the Akeia
(leaded' designated tents, and
then it

until a rain shower confined
them to their tents. Between
5:30 and b:00 Saturday morn-
ing most boys were out of
bed and ready to go. By "I:15
they were already into a
vigorous game of soccer. At
7:30 the Pack was off to the
Flag Raisieg Cerertinies.

Park. A nature hike was held
next. The boys were to find
six different tree leaves and
identify them. Next they
were off on another nature
hike to find wild flowers and
identify them. The Cubs
found this a little harder, but
all did well,

was back to camp for lunch.
While the cubs ate, the two
cooks decided the macaroni
pot should be buried because
of the state it was in. During
the meld, one cub was smart
enough to trade his father

to watch a Fire Display by
the ' Goderich Fire Depart-
ment. The next event was an
OPP display, showing the
boys the cruisier lights and
sirens in action with a mem-
ber of the OPP Golden
Helmets Motercycle Team.
This was of great interest.
Well, back to work for the
boys.

for Best Camp and Athlete.
Vanastra Campsite pulled in
a hard to believe third place.
Colin Thomas won third prize
in the 300 yard dash and

ball throw. A few weak arms
showed up here, Jag it was a
general good showing by all.
Then, right into the Running
broad jump with Cohn
Thomes coming in first.
By now supper-time had
arrived. It was Served by the

But, a good excuse was given
by both parties who said
their time was occuped try-
ing to clean a macaroni pot.
After Stipper the boys chal-
lenged the Hensall Cub Pack
to a baseball game during
the free time period. ThiS led
to a soccer challenge from
the Luau* Cub Pack. A few
bruises and scrapes but it
was a good time. Then it was

It was cold Saturday night

gear. With all the soap chips

found the clean up a breeze
but the potato pieces were a

boiled and scrubbed trying to
make their pots look like they
once .did. Next the boys ran
the SO yard dash. All did
exceptionally well meeting
