MRS. LOUIS LOOBY
The oldest resident in
Dublin, Mrs. Louis James
Looby died in Hillside Nurs-
ing Home. Sebringville on
Tuesday. She Has in her 94th
year.
The former inn Marie
Ryan, she was horn in Lon-
don township on June 24.
1887. a daughter of the late
John Ryan and Elizabeth
Guest. A .graduate of the
London Model School and of
Coretia Abbey College. Tor-
ontia. she came to Dublin in
1907 to teach at the Dublin
school. Two years later on
September 29. 1909 she was
married in Our Lady of
• Lourdes' Church in Toronto
to Louis -James. Looby; a
Dublin contractor.
When- Mr: Looby died in
1938 he held the office of .
Inspecting Trustee for
Dublin, an office to which
Mrs. Looby was named on
her husband's death and
which she continued to
occupy , through several
erealditstintit her retirement
in 1951. At the same time she
served on the Dublin Hydro
Commission.
During the war she was
active in the formation of the.
Dublin Red Cross. $deietv,

1958 Mrs. Looby was re-
ceived and honoured' by the
Lord Mayor of Dublin. Mrs.
Catherine Bryne when she

public village of Dublin. Ont-
ario to the city of Dublin.
Ireland from which the Ont-
ario Dublin had received its
name in 1878.
A member of St. Patrick's
Roman 'Catholic Church,
Dublin, she was a 'member of
the CWL and other church
organizations as long as
health permitted.
Mrs. Looby is stirv,ived by
four sons. Rev. Father
Arthur Looby, C.S.B.. of
Toronto. and Joseph. 'Clay-

in 1938, one son Clarence, in
1978 and by a daughter, Mrs.
R.J'. (Loreen) Curran. form-
erly of Ottawa in 1980 and by
3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mrs. Looby rested at the
R.S. Box Fulieral Home, 47
High Street. Seeforth. after 7
p.m. Wednesday evening. A
funeral service will be held
Friday morning at St. Pat-
rick's Roman Catholic
Church in Dublin. with mass
of the Christian Burial at 11
a.m. Interment •will follow in
Dublin,Seaforth girls

Logan Township Council
approved its 1981 budget of
51,106.069 at its meeting
May 5. The amount includes
$390,621 to be paid to the
county boards of education.
$65.64. to be paid. ,to the
County of Perth, and
$649,818. to be used for
township purposes.
The township - expenses
were broken down to provide
$363,000 for road construct-
ion , and maintenance,
S53,000 for general admini-
stration, 535.648 for protect-
ion to persons and property,
53,250 for operating the
sanitary landfill site, $28,876
for culture and recreation,
$133,171 for repayment of
tile drainage loans and
S20,243 for payment of mun-
icipal drain debentures.
Of the $649,818 needed to
maintain, the township roads
and other programs,
< $283,177 will come from

venue , leaving 61,938 to
be raised by taxatkon.----
To raise this amount, the

from 34.36 mills to 38 mills.

sidential mill rate decreased
