Cancer campatgn When Seaforth area people are asked to support, the AdiMal Cancer Cam- paign they think of the work done by the society in it's battle to control cancer and find a cure. But thars not all- -the organization does, according' to- Jud Walker: head of the area society. "Few people realize how much money is spent locally helping those stricken with cancer" he said. "The local program includes transporta- tion week after week of patients to the London treat- ment centre. In addition, the, local society provides dress- , ings and patient services throughout the required." Mr.. Walker emphasized that the cancer, program was not something that arose once a year at - campaign time., but •was on- going every week in the year. -This is wh) we stress the fact we need nearly $1500 More in order to meet our objective of $60130.00" he said, area as •-•-•wive _-mom a Microwave or a Dishwasher SPECIAL MOTHER'S DAY PRICE THIS WEEKEND ONLY A GIFT OF FURNITURE Big Savings on Carpets, Furniture and Appliances WATCH FOR OUR FLYER IN NEXT WEEK'S PAPER Our three day Giant Bonanza Sale ThuriMay 14 to Sat, May 16 R• S n BOXLTD. • ° seaforth 5A141680 • Elfsfinnlmsmu r 4A1 ••••• ( .)Q, 1 47 c•N Give her one of our special Silk Flower Arrangements or one of our many hand made items The Leisure Den 16 Main Street p Sealirtth $21.0905 Open 10 to SI:10 daily' 1ft rir".r11••11r'1,• • ;•• 1.1,Ire .4I 7. .1" 1,177.7 111.7.1,17: .1111. 7Pr1717". • 4 P lan altered Condos v„..:0- coming BY SHARON DIETZ rn Huron Couno. The .116 eloper, Peever of London, propose a'• three - phase development- Etch phase consists of six groups ‘ilth four lUxury townhouse condominiums in each group. The condominiums ss jil he sold and will likely he used as summer residences. The development w ill have its ow a recreational facilities including sw Miming pool and tennis courts. The land use designation w ill be "Zzhanged from rural residential to urban. The amendment points out that when the secondary Plan was prepared. the area ad- . jacent to the Village of Hayfield *as, designated Tor low density residential de- velopment.. Recreational development in the Hayfield River for marinas • and associated commercial development has led to the opportunity for higher density residential developMent in the form of low rise condominiums. Although the amendment allows for a density increase over the existing allowable density.. the permitted dens- , ity of six units per gross'acre is low enough to be :in keeping with surrounding development.' DESIGN The design and land- scaping will also serve to • keep the development to a "village scale." The or- ganization of the develop dicates it will not ',unduly impact on the Hayfield hous- ing Market. There are several site con- cerns which were outlined to county council by county planner Gary Davidson.. The most contentious is surface, and. subsurface' drainage': The - problem, according to Davidson, is whether the faster drainage created by the development will cause increased erosion on lakeshore property •at Jowetts Grove. The develop- er proposes to build a storage pond which - will slow the runoff of water and decrease erosion.-- - County council recom- mended that drainageRro- visions be ensured by placing the area under site plan control and. a development agreement with the Town- ship of Goderich be. arranged to control servicing and stag- Mg of the development. , Hayfield reeve 'George' Fellows tabled a motion to clarify the agreement with the Township of Goderich asking that the agreement, include the assurance of proper surface and suhsurf- -ace drainage according to the stipulations of the township engineer. Mr. Fellows said he trusts the township en- gineering firm, B.M. Ross and Associates. will protect the interests of the Hayfield residents of Jowetts Grove. li A C a ---~-ry.4, t 44* ...., , . , v WO. , apd•Hel#4ind.ROb4tViltOomo OtgrtittO0,04.0ottiger t9Pt they found .while totofg, OtrOucill, Mary-, ,04041's 4).00, tottthvost of SoOforth, $tlOoi,ilooy wore part of a, large grOtip::Offiich aogOo0cl'thii, Invitation from the Seaforthlicirticuitoral Society to take the spring walk , through the.woods.
