rial league opened its 12th
season Sunday with two
games.
The most exciting game by
far was between the Main-
streeters and the Village.
with Mainstreet scoring 4:3
win in eight innings.
Village opened the scoring ,
with one run in the top of the'
4th and went ahead 3-0 on
Rick Wood's two run homer.
Mainstreeter got one back
hi the bottom of the Sth on
Brian Nigh's home run.
Mainstreeters scored one in

eighth on a pass to take
the victory.

The ladies of the club began, their golf
season Mondas ss tth their first ladies'
night The sseather man co-operated giving
up a good start and good attendance. The
nest ladies' night is the 11th and all ladies
are in ited. After golfing there Will be a pot
luck supper and refreshments.
Tonight is the first men's night and we
hope to see the old and new members out
for the action.. There. will be a blind draw to
determine the winners. Remember anyone
parritpating in ten or more -Men's Nights
can enjoy the bash at the end of the season.
We'll soon have the sheets up for the
men's 'and junior's match play which will
get underway the first week of June.

opens when he finds his ball in a footprint.
It requires two strokes to get out of a trap. .

golfers retrieve golf balls and sell them
hack to their owners at half price:Shank-
uncounscious trick shot. 90 degrees off
course. A golfer who shanks has as many
friends as a leper; Mulligan- a second shot
employed by hackers to prove that.the first
one was no mistake. ,
BROOMBALL PRESENTS CHEQUE.— Don Jewitt of Clinton, president'
of the Seaforth Broomball League, presented a $4Q0 cheque on behalf of
the League last week to Maureeri Penn of Goderich, chairman of the
children's services committee for the Goderich and District. Association
for the Mentally Retarded. The money Will be used for' the handicapped
children's nursery which was started by the Assoalation in the Vanastra
Community Centre last F9pruary under the Sponsorship of Tuckersmith
Township Council.

the Matheson-MacLeod Clan
was held at the Atwood
Community Centre. April 26.

ant's of this clan.
Mrs. Glen the
president. chaired the nice--
Rev. David Watson .of
Elmira United Church spoke
briefly of Mr. Stewart's long
and faithful ministry while
Mac Pratt. Listowel, also a
member of the clan. express-
ed the appreciation of the
clan for his interest in pre-
paring and having published
the gencalogs . thus preserv-
ing the history of the clan.
He was presented with a
guest book and an address
book in gold by the clan.
Several rose' bushes were
also presented to him by Mr.
and Mrs. Ernest Paynter.

search and labour Mr.
Stewart completed a Geneal-
ogy of the clan. which was
reproduced in lonie-leaf book
form.
Fireman started strongly,
scoring the first run.
Then Queens went to work
at bat. They scored live runs
in the 3rd and added three
in the 5th and four more in
the 6th. Mark Robinet scored
Queens with three singles
'with Ray Mazes t hitting a
home run and ,a single.
Tom Phillips hit a double
as the Firemen managed
only five bats off Steve
Webster.
In 'Monday night's late
game the Travellers opened
the season with 7-0 win over
