Another Experience '81
project approved will provide
a media/resource program in
the five Stratford schools--St.
Michael's, St. Joseph's. St.
Ambrose, Immaculate Con-
ceptiOn and St. Aloytius. Six
students plus one project
leader will assume responsi-
bilities for the development
of vertical and picture files in
the various schools.
A selection committee
Made up of board admini-
strative staff and a repre-
sentative from' the ministry
will select the students when
all - the applications are in by
mid-May for the media re-
source project. The students
will find application forms to
fit) out at their secondary
sChools, through the gttid-
once officers.
The media facilities in the
five Stratford schools' will be
updated withte-affanging of
the card catalogliesystems to
provide easier access to
pupils; carrying out a book
inventory--checking the card
catalogue with the books on
the shelf; to develop an A.V.
software card catalogue
system Which will provide
easier access to films, tapes
, and tecords for pupils and
teachers; the deVelopment of
picture files within the
schools according to speci-
fied ' needs of individual
schools; compilation of pro-
ject folders from material
gathered. from magazines'
such as National Geographic,
Owl...These folders would be
used as research material for
student projects; the record-
ing of tapes of primary books
which in turn. would he used
in teacher developed lessons
and centre-activities.
Students working on this
project will develop profi-
ciency in 'typing and filing
skills; organizational, skills;
also -research skills; time
management; • cooperative
planning in order .,,tom best
meet the needs of school
objectives; and finally to
assess possible careers 'for
themselves as library- tech-
nician, Clerical typist and
junior, management.
