sewage lagoon should begin
in a month.
Mitchell council recently
approved 'the hiring of,, Blue=
Con Construction , Incorpor-
ated of London to construct
the waste stabilization
Ponds. The company's bid of,
$823,439 was the lowest of 14
firms who tendered for the
job. The Limdon firm com-
pleted a similar project in
Grand Bend two years ago.
Expansion 'of the sewage
lagoon is to be eoMPleted in a
60-week period. Former Min-
ister of the environment. •Dr.
Harry Parrott, informed
Mitchell council he had ap-
proved a grant of $1.2 million
which represents 74 per- cent
of the net capital costs of the
lagoon construction. the

expansion of the lagoon sy-
. stem, the town has agreed to,
purchase lot 25, Conc. 2 of
Fullerton Township, for
$120,000. The Upper Thames
Valley Conservation Author-
ity will reimburse the town
for . 55 .per cent of the
purchaser, price under the
floodplainaiacquisitions act.
There are 98 acres on the
property, and, the 64 arable
acres will be rented to local
farmers until it is required in
the event. of the lagoon's
expansion.
