Rev. Peter Mantel of the
Vanastra Church believes the
centre provides a much need-
ed ministry to the social and
spiritual needs of the ref-
ugees in this area. There are
about 30 government-spon-
soted Southeast Asian New
'Canadians livingin Vanastra
without any direct sponsors
like churches or ' private
groups. There is no financial
obligation involved. All they
need is a friend,, invite. them
,to dinner sometime, take
them to a show or shopping,
show them how to look for a
job, take them to the doctor's
- they need you, the minister
