Lucan suffered 10 minor penalties during the third period, and most of them were on the cheap side. Ted Ouimet was outstand- ing' for the winners and his, acrobatics in, the nets earned him the M.V.P. award for his. team. Dave Rogers won the trophy for Thedford. Rick Freeman and Jim Benn did the damage for the Hackers. The two games' were a Couple of fine performances by four good clubs but most of the excitement took place earlier Sunday during the Denfield-Seaforth game. A large. vocal' partisan crowd was on hand to wit- ness the 'best darn game in the Tournament's history. In a thriller from start to nailbit- ing finish, the Denfield squad prevailed •by a 6-5 count. Seaforth pulled goalie 'Al Carter with just over a min- ute LW and applied-tremen- dous pressure around _the Denfield net. At least five super chances missed by the locals provided .a wild finish that had the crowd roaring- Ulla apprecia- tion. Most fans agreed it was the best game in the Missing chanees that would. turn you grey over night. Flyers battered the gritty Canadian goalie for the first 30 minutes but Copper's display had the' frustrated Orangeshirts shaking their heads. The LH.L. would like to thank all fans but especially those Sunday morning whose sup- port will always be remem- bered. They made the game. Ben Van Den Akker com- bined talents with Sid Wocks to make the Tourney a suc- cess and both• should be congratulated for the effort. There are some small bugs to be worked out but every tournament suffers through growing pains. All in all, it was a job well' done. They played a sudden death game Tuesday night and the winner will meet Hawks in the Final,. , I.H.L, notes: The champ- ionship round will probably , be played Friday night (27th) Sunday (29th) and Monday night (30th). These dates are not final yet and league officials should be contacted for exact times. The Lill. banquet and dance takes place Saturday night (28th).
