After five - months •of .
games. practices: twisted
ankles: ripped shoes and the
like the Golden Bears ended
their season with a broil/I.'
medal at the OFSSA • A
tournament in Parkhill,
Thursday the team omit to
° Parkhill for a look at the
teanik they would be playing
Friday. Following Thursday
games there was a banquet
in honour of the B teams
entered in the competition.
Friday morning', Seaforth
was scheduled to play
Winona Vikings at 9:30 but a
*slight delay moved game
time back to 10:00.
While coach Terry
Johnston said the team could,
improve on several.
smaller points. Golden Bears
still easily eliminated
-the end-" Of the°
-first quarter: 'Bears had an
unbelievable 22-7 'lead and
by the 'half everything was
still under control in a 36-19
score. The third 'quarter has
sometimes hampered the
team when they have a large
' lead but it didn't materialte
and at the end of the third
quarter• it was 58.43.
The „final eight minutes
went just its well and the
final score was 75-62. 'Top
scorers' 'for Seaforth were
Dennis Nielsen with 22. Rob
Thompson wit,h 17 and Eddy
Nielsen holding out for no
less than 16.
With their first game won
quite handily Seaforth began
preparing for theirr, next.
game at-Mid-1'0/kb- Wiarton
but with the Winona teams
late arrival and with an $800
glass backboardun-
ceremoniously shattered in
another game, the Wiarton
game was delayed until 6:00
o'clock.
The game was unlike the
Bears' previous ganic ,and
was close throughout the 4
quarters. Seaforth led on the
first three quarters by a slim
margin.
Yet in the fourth quarter
with a minute and a half left
in 'the gaine the Bears were
down a 42-38 .sedre. Seaforth
used their cull court press

trouble and Dennis Nielsen

dike and O'Hara- some of the
guests. at Seaforth Public'
Library's annual book sale.
Those were- among' the ou-
tliers whose 'Works were sold
at bargain prices and' more
than 50 people were lined up
to get those bargains when
the+ library doors opened
Saturday morning at 10.
Librarian Trudy Broome
said thousands of books from
the Huron County library
system were on sale. Prices
ranged from 25 cents for
hardcovers- anything from
the classics -to Harlequin
romances.- 4. 10 cents for
children books arid paper-
backs, three for 10 cents. She
said the library staff took in
about $175, more than
they've ever made at a hook
sale before,
Mrs. Broome said the,
books which• proved the best
sellers Saturday were
children's' books. with decor-
ating and x•it hooks -the
most popular ykith • adul t
buyers.
The hooks which were sold
were .ones which hadn't cir-
culated in county-libraries for
