The songs they sang were cheer- ing in the spirit of the Irish. Mrs. Arlene Van den Akker Grade V teacher was in . attendance. Most oldie residents wore green on honour of the Day and on our dinner trays was. an emblem of,t he Day,. a pie with a green stem filled with green sweeties. e -wa's also touch\of green on our dinner °dessert. The choir greeted the residents indivi- dually with a handshake and in some cases a kiss. (Photo ay Hook) Best St. Patrick's Day Manor residents soy "SG, Patrick'S,. Day" was celebrated.at Seaforth Manor last Tuesday evening in true Irish style.,All residents were wearing their shamrocks donated. by the Friendship Circle of First Presbyterian Church. Over 40 residents and guests attended and dancing and singing was the' . highlight of the evening. Music was provided by Gladys Vdn Egmond on the piano. Mr. Elgin Nott. violin, ATtnto,..fiplayson, bass:, and songs by Don Traviss of -Clinton'. Special guest was Frank Sills who delighted, everyone with his rendition of "Alic Blue Gown.•• Frank also sang Timm/ Irish num- bers and special requests and teamed up with Don for • several duets. Many • rest- dents stated it was the best St. Patrick's Day they had for time, Charlesoss-- .. _thanked all the entertainers Mary Finlayson also thanked ev- eryone for participating and thanked Mrsk 'James Nolan for . the lovely • decorated shdrtbread cookies, Clifford l nornton, administrator, was also pre- sent. In the afte'rnoon Isobel Lamble celebrated her birth- day 'and her :guest for her birthday birthday party was Mae Smith. Twelve 'other ladies attended and enjoyed cake and 'tea with her. Ali sang Happy Birthday to Isobel and she, also received congrat- alatory cards from many friends. Church service was held on-Wednesday afternotin- -and in Rev. Yielding's absence Mervyn Lobb of Clintdn very capably took over for Rev. Yielding. He and M.o. Lobb also sang two beautiftil duets Readings were given by Mrs,', Elliott. Mrs. McGonigle an Freda , Seimon. We were very sorry to hearMrs. Yielding has not been enjoying gOod health.. On Friday afternoon, Shir- ley Luther of the Salvation Army visited and once again brought residentS- her mes- sage in voice and song. Favourite hymns were sung and a special request made for Dens Wars' and CoeiT Rhoades, who are confined to Stratford Hospital. PERSONALS George Addison visited • with Mrs. Gladys Wallis. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Robert McClure were their son and daughter, Ross McC4tire and Lillian Bernard. Mack Tiffin, Harold Walsh. Mrs. Maxine Elliott accom- panied by Karen Finlayson, N.A. drove to Stratford on Saturday afternoon and visit- ed fellow residents Doris Wills and Cecil Rhoades and also had supper while out.
