Friday is ,the last day of
school for ten days. During
this break, the SDHS band
will be making their, trip
down to-`Myrtle Beach, South
Carolina. The band leaves s at
3:00 in the afternoon on
Saturday. Along with the
,hand there will be ,ehaperon.
ss and spectators to cheer
musicians or as 'we march
down the streets of . Myrtle
Beach in the Can-Am Par-
ade. There will be two buses
going down and we should
arrive at our hotel after 'a'
night of driving at ahem
12:00 noon. Sunday March
22. •
The first parade will be on
Monday. March 23. We will
have one practice by this
time. On Tuesday we will:
have another, practice and.
then a marching drill at a
mad in Myrtle Beath. The
rest of thetime is free time,.

I saw a , flawless perform.

monkeys, lion's. tigers. vul-
tures. and of course the
"elephants". and other char:
actors all on, the stage at one

staging was splendid and
very creative. The set and
scene changes were colorful
and artistic add' 1.-liked the -
feeling brought shout b% the
flashing lights.
I was impressed -111111 the
fine orchestra and direction.
The inursu, had a popular
toe tapping rhythm and the
lyrics cute and appropriate.

bubble with enthusiasm and
at no time c‘pressed the lack

Hearn.. Diane Bruinsma and
-C. Bus and learned that
many hardtt irking hours and.
'patience went into the dc•
signing, and staking the

in detail and character. It
would be difficult to judge
anyone part as better than
another. They were all clev-
erly played and showed
much talent. The scene it oh

realistic and artfully' done •
had to mention again there is
great talent here at the
school.
While this production is a
first attempt letris hope it is
only the begining" of many
future performances. On be-
half of the' Residents and
.attendants Many thanks for
inviting us'to your successful
rehearsal. The. tremendous*'
effort displayed by. teachers,
"directors. „musicians, wond-
-caul pupils .and everyone

'afternoon.
`TeSts aren't the only
things happening this past
week at SDHS. In order to
keep the- school in school
spirit, the students' council
has arrang4a student week
this week.14..ast Monday .wa
was hat and tie' day. Students
were asked to get dressed up
in their Dad's tie and a hat
and wear it to school SOme of
the results were inzteresting
although most of the stu-
dents forgot over the week --
end and wore regular cloth-
es. Since Tuesday was St.
Patrick's Day, the school
tillowed the old tradition and
we were asked to wea% green
-clothes if we could. This turn
ed out 'to be a 'success.
although 'it is hard to find
green clothes to wear.
-Wednesday was- schodi
spirit day: The idea of this
day is to wear the school
colours. black and gold.
Students wore black pants
and-yellow shirts or as close
to gold as possible. Thursday
was western Day which
meant that we conic! wear ,
cowboy hats. "boots. western_.
shirts, jeans or jean skims
and whatever loOked western-
to us. Friday means Foster
Kids, teens,
in betweens
As you can see, this week
has been an exciting one and
next week sould be better.
There-ars many plans for the
students who are staying
back in Seafor0 for the
