Dublin has returned to his
home after a stayin Seaforth
Community Hospital.
Last week Vic Ward of
R.R. 4, Walten and his
brother Jack shot and killed a
fox, their secendef the year.
Later when rounding up
their dogs, they noticed one
had been shot and another
missing. They decided to
retrace the tracks and came
uponblood* spots on •the
snow. Following the trail
they came upen their other
dog, which had also been
shot and was dead. ,
The wounded dog was
then taken to the veterinary
clinic.
The dog is now at home
and doing well. Who could
be so mean as to shoot
hunting hounds?
Mr. and Mrs. Ron
McCallum and Mr. and Mrs.
Brian Pryce spent the
weekend at Huntsville.
Master Chad McCallum
spent the weekend' with. Mr.
and Mrs. Mike MuSselmarl.,
Chris and Jeff at Stratford.
Mrs. Phylis Burch of
Goderich is spending this
week at the home of Larry.

the Brodhagen Chamber -of Commerce president and Heather Atce of
Brodhagen were among, the volunteers• who manned the kitchen during
Brodhagen's annual winter carnival on the weekend. The ladies served
'coffee, hamburgs and some delicious chili, jUst the things needed to
warm up snoWmobilers taking part in the cross-country piker rally.

Brodhagen's annual two
day winter ,carnival this
weekend drew a "fantastic
turnout", according to carni-
val chairman Bill Beuerman.
On Saturday, 58 door prizes
worth over S800 were handed
out to some of the lucky — • participants in-, •the ' cross-
country poker rally, which
attracted 320 entries.
Bill Belleiman said next
year; the Brodhagen Cham-
ber of Commerce plans to
reschedule the' carnival for
an earlier date, so, it won't
conflict with other' carnivals ..
held in Myth', Listowel and ';4-
neighbouring towns.'
Next year, the Brodhagen
Winter -Carnival will be held
January 9'and 10, which Mr.
Beuerrndin said will'rake.,..it
one .of the first fivals of .
the winter. If the weather
doesn't co-operate, he said
the Chamber will consider
shifting it back to a February
date:
The winner of first prize,
was a local snowmobiler

prize. Rori Godkin of Walton
took second prize, and Randy
Walker of Mitchell wen, a S30
prize. The other winners
were Bob' Rock of Monkion.'

lum of Walton, who won S20.
On Sunday., carnival e-
vents again proved a popular
drawing 'card for .area SnoW-
mobiters.ln the western pick
'up race, Floyd. Unshed' and

were Keith Siemon and Reg -

finishers. the team of Bob
Johns and Paul Haynes. .

place in the egg race as well,

In the novelty races, where•

tot* the first prise, followed
by Keith Siemon,

Wolfe, The turtle race saw
Bob Johns take the top spot,
followed by Floyd Upshall.
• In the novelty race' cate-
gory, the overall winner was
snowmobilei Keith. Siemon
•of RR4. 'Wilton. with 24
points in total. The second,
place spot taken by two
Men. who tied with 13 points-1-
Floyd Upshall and Bob
. Johns. The third place fin-
isher was Wayne Wolfe with
five points,
DRAG RACE. WINNERS
In the drag races, ,the
top winner was Al Schmidt of
RR!, Gadsliill, with 13 Points
in total. The second 'place
whiner was the novelty class
• champion, -Keith Siemon,
with 12 points.
In the stock. G class of the
drag races, top snowmobiler
was Mike Webb, with 6.25
points, followed by Randy
Gridzak and Murray McIn-
tyre.
The stock ,F class was
taken by ,Warren
with 8.75 points, followed by
Brad Boyd and Wayne
Wolfe. Brian Argyle was top
4 man in the Stook E event.
followed by Mike Webb and
Bob Clark.
In the Stock 0 category of
the drag races, Ed Green
Wok first' place, followed by
Mark Swartzentruber and
Bill Benerman. -In the Stock
C event, Ray Horan. was first
place finisher, "followed by
Keith Siemon _and Ed Green.
The Stock, 'B event was
captured by gay Horan. with
Kejth Siemon taking second
place and Bruce Norris third..
The Stock A race was won 1111 .7:1
