medical profession met Wed-
nesday in Clinton for a
day-long seminar on new
obstetrical practices. The
seminar. titled ,'Obstetrical
Update", was held at the
Ontario Street United Church • -
arid sponsored by the Clinton
Hospital. -
Among nurses and doctors
attending the seminar were
hoSpital staff from Seaforth,
Godetich. :Exeter and other
lkocal hospitals. The guest
speakers at the seminar were
Dr. Graham•Chance, Profes-
sor.- of Pediatrics, 'St.
loAeph's Hospital. London;
Dr. Paul Harding, Chief of
'Obstetries, St Jeseph's Hos-
pital and Trud y Radford, B.
SC.N. obstetrical and pedia-
tric liaison nurse, University,
of Western Ontario.,
Local doctors also present-
ed cases to be studied and a
fetal monitor was liemonstra-
ted by Hewlett,Packard Co..

the largest of its kind to be,
held in the area and grew
from an orginal monthly
Seminar concept initiated-by
Clinton doctor Raymond
Rowers.

Hospital administrator,
noted the obstetrical update
is 'particularly valuable to
Clinton hospital staff 'since
)
they don't 'do ' as many
deliveries in a small hospital.
)Ie explained by studyingg•
unusual cases at the seminar
the staff will be more pre-
pared to handle' any pro-
blems that mght occur in the
delivery .room._...
The Clinton hospital de-
livered only 64 babies in
1980,- Therewere74 births et
