closer to the singer's goal. Beginning with a cosputic
change. he reverted from his assumed name. Rotten. back
to his proper surname.. Lydon. assuming perhaps one dies
.., not have„tabe rotten to destroy rhythm. And the chant itt
the music is indeed drastic, defying description althaigh
there are some eleMents of jazz (progressive) and rack •
lurking in the background. Beyond that, however, it nods
a new name. The still vacuous term 'pew wave, oftrs

If what Lydon is doing is in some way equivalent p a
shift in a liberal direetion, then the move the other way an
fall under the heading conservative, though it avoidsniy
negative connotations, which may lie in the term.

years or so is a renewed interest both by musicians tad
audiences for blues or variations of that ,style. There las
actually been an undercurrent of blues afficienados. vett

prominent name then was likely Paul Butterfield, at lest
immore pepttlar music circles. He and his baedhad-tfeir
mojo working as early as 1965, and drew heavily on he
influence Of massive ChiCago blues fraternity.
