The G., T. .Traokmen's Strike, moiitts, and 10 days.vf
• The strike of the Grand Trunk
tracktnen is unfortunate at this sea-
son of activity. Mr. Hay's able
management has brought the Grand
Trunk system tip to a high level of
efficiency,and ba a procured a wonder-
fal change for the better in its finan-
cial conditions. To day the Grand
Trunk is stronger than it has ever
been, and bas apparently re-entered
a dividend -paying epoe.h, which the
shareholders, alter their long depri-
vation, deserve. It is desirable at
this a ispicious time that the relations
of the great corporation and its em-
ployees should not be disturbed. If
it is true, as is alleged by the track -
men, that their average wage is only
98c per day, it would seem to be a
ease for arbitration.
