"You will always be my friends and
neighbors even though I live in Mitchell."
Those were the sentiments expressed by
Minnie Leonharth in response to the address
given by Barb Scherbarth at the 'going- away'
party at the home of Charles and' Barb
Scherbarth Friday evening.
Friends and neighbors enjoyed progres-
sive euchre with Norlene Bennewies giving
prizes to Willard Bennewies, men's high.
Grace Hodgert, ladies' high: Carl Leonhardt
men's low and Minnie Leonhardt ' Ladies'
, low. Minnie was presented with a bridge set,
and everyone enjoyed a smorgasbord
lunch.
The sympathy of the community is
extended to the Edward Bennewies family at
the passing of Louis Bennewies at the age of
92. The funeral was Eiday morning at St
Peter's Lutheran Church. Brodhagen •
A large crowd attended the annual
congregational picnic, Sunday at St Peter's
Lutheran Church. It was a lovely sunny day
for the service which Pastor Horst conducted
on the lawn.
The Sunday School children opened the
service with a song accompahied by Pastor
Horst on the guitar. Angela Bernard sang a
solo and Hose Robinson and Pauline Siemon
presented attendance awards at the conclu-
sion of the service.
Young and old joined in the numerous
games in the afternoon under the direction of
Rose Gilck and the grade 8 class
There will be no Sunday School in the
summer months but it will resume in
September,
A special "Thank you" to the leacherq
whose time and effort make the Brodhagen
Sunday School an enjoyable and meaningful
part or the church
Lovely baskets of flowers from the funeral
of Louis Bennewies adorned the table at the
front of the service on Sunday morning
The Bantam Girls hall team made a good
showing at the tournament in Milverinn
Saturday.
Brodhagen started the morning off nght
with a 16-5 win over. Kirkion Donna Van
Baker pitched five strong innings for
Brodhagen and also scored 2 runs Kim Diet?
