(Expositor Photo) BISHOP VISITIS LOCAL PARISH — His Excellency Bishop John Sherlock of the London . Diocese, flanked by Father Oostveen of St. ColOmban parish and Father Mockler of London, the bishop's secretary and a group of the'fourth degree honor guard of the Knights of Columbus on the steps Of St. Columban church on Sunday. The Bishop spoke to members of the Knights. of Columbus and their families following a special breakfast after the service. Honor guard escorts the bishop Over 200 members of District 31, Knights of Columbus, and their wives attended the first district corporate communion and breakfast on Sunday at St. Columban Church. Preceeding Holy Mass at 12 noon, 25 members of the Dean Egan Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights, as Ian honour guard ac- companied his Excellency Bishop Shericok, London, from the Rectory to the church where. Bishop Sher- lock celebrated mass, as- sisted by Rev.• Fr. Mockler, the Bishop' sSecretary and Rev. Fr. 0o,stveen, pastor of St. Columban Church. Fr. Oostveen welcomed the Bis- hop and visitors to his parish, followed by Bishop Sherlock DONATE $1,000 TO ARTHRITIC SOCIETY — The Knights of Columbus of Seaforth and area presented a cheque for $1",000 to the Arthritic . Society at the monthly meeting of. Father Stephen Eckert council Thursday night. 'The cheque was presented by John Paul R'au (left, chairman of a raffle sponsored by the council at the Zurich Bean Festival to Mrs. Betty Janke (right), Field Representative of the Bluewater Region, while Grand Knight, Seamus Doherty (centre) looks on. Mrs. Janke thanked the council on behalf of the Arthritic Society and also for the co-operation of the Knights in assisting the Seaforth Arthritic Group in the recent canvass organized by Jim Etue, absent when the picture was taken. . The Knights of Columbus adopted the Arthritic Society as their principal project a few years ago and supported not only by the State Board but also at the council level. The K. of C. is a fraternal organization dedicated to Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism and are committed to Youth Work throughout the Province as well as supporting hospitals and other agencies. • (Expositor Photo) Bishop Sherlock who gave the homily. Following the services all members and guests as- sembled in the church hall where+ breakfast was served by the Catholic Women's League of St. Columban. Ewart Wilson, Catholic Activity Chairman for the local council, was in charge ofthe arrangementsiSeaforth Council. Mr. Wilson called upon Jim Kelly. Catholic Activity Chairman, Kilroy Council, who, extended a sincere "Thanks you" to the St. Columban C.W.L. for the breakfast. After extending a welcome to the Bishop and guests he introduced the head table nationalities to his 'holiness Pope John Paul 2nd on the occasion of his installation and the new pope's need of help and prayers. Seamus Doherty, Grand . Knight of Fr. Stephen Eckert Council, Seaforth and Dis- trict, extended a "Thank you" to his Excellency. Many of the clergy in the area were present and guests attended.
