HAROLD WISE LIM TED Heating - Electrical 262 Bayfield Road Phone 482-7062 Clinton, Ontario THE WARIVITH • By Debbie Ranney Flying farmers could be a step ahead of harried motorists when they come to the International Plowing Match in Wingham September. They'.won't' haVe to park at the site. The Wingham airport will be providing parking space for - planes and- will be offering free traniportation* for the flying farmers out to the plowing—match--site well. Bill Cruikshank, owner -of the airport said the farmers be landing at the airport and from there fOur vehicles are to provide continuous free transportation to the `plowing match site. These- vehicles will be transporting people as the need. arises. Mr: Cruikshank.'said the • only limitation at' his 'airport isthe parking space. He said at. the Walkerton airport during the Bruce match ,they had 75 planes on a. good clav: . panics probably will be flying lb as well, . The Wingliam airport is licences. free for everybody tO use, 'and Mr. Cruikshank really can't see any problems Stith landing or room for the,' planes. "We have two ritnways,... -We're.going to park, them on . one and land them on the other.lint sure there's-, no danger of ratting out of space." -he said. For the .planes that do fly in, he has gasoline available if they iteettit'and'will' have a 'radio to talk to. them coming in: A little trailer will be parreacT down by the runway and radio contact made' from there. "We'll have to have sortie- body there to park airplanes and' somebody to give gasoline. and four vehicles will be standing by all day long to transport people coiling and going from the plowing match.": Mr. Cruik- - shank said. ____Tostek have also.been put- in most of the airports in Ontario indicating where .the airport is, and in most of the aviation trade rnagaiines. there is a little blurb 'that indicates that landing space is available at •the Wingham airport for people planning to fly to the match. Mr. Cruikshank said that over 250 people flew into. Walkerton last year over a -five-day-perioch--- "1 don't-think we. could • predict --how;_.i._many .._ we're-- expecting: We.. could park 100 planes ifwe' needed-to," . he said, As- well. as farmers.
