Topnotch Feeds Ltd., a
wholly owned subsidiary of
James Richardson and Sons

to Seaforth in 1953 when •
they purchased the Excel-
lence Flour Mills. Shortly
after coming to Seaforth the
main mill was badly
damaged by fire ,but within
months was rebuilt and
modernized.
Up until-

operated three feed mills in
the province.

Seaforth in 1967 and '
converted it to provide head
office accommodation.
The building, which had"
housed Seaforth Shoes
before they moved to West
William Street, had had a
checkered career over the
years.
It was first erected in the
early 1880's and known as
Sharp's Hotel. By ,1883, the
building had changed owner-
ship, and - was now the
Kennedy House. When
workmen.demolished part of
the building in 1967, they
found the Kennedy House
name still 'painted on the
frame section of the building.
W.J. Duncan purchased the
building in 1913.
Expansion.
, In 1964, Topnotch Feeds
lid., Seaforth entered into
an agreement to purchase
