(Expositor Photo) The Winthrop Warrettes have had an exciting play off game with Seaforth. They lost the first game- to Sea forth 15-3. The second game wa§evon 11-6 with a home run by Carolyn Sommerville bringing in 2 runs. The third game was won 8-5 but was neck to neck. tr- The last game was_ won 12-6 with Carolyn Sommer- ville getting home run in first inning with bases loaded. Mary Anna Ryan got a solo home run in last inning which brought congratu- lations from 'all the girls. Players went to Dianne's after the game for lunch and to wish "Buck" a good• holiday. The match was held at Laval Sur-Le-Lac near Montreal. The golfers who qualified for the match were the high scorers in provincial championship qualifiying round. Mr. Wig said he played very well on the first day of the match, and was one under par. with a score of 71. The local golfer was only two shots from the lead. Then, on the second day. "the Wheels fell off," he said. Mr. Doig scored 80 on his second day out, but still qualified. to play in the final two rounds. His scores in thaOse:00ids were 76 and 77: The match was won 'by Ron Spittle, a Magara Falls golfer who has taken the match two years in •a row. H is overall score for the match was 276. Mr. Doig's overall score was 305. The second place finisher was Gary Cowan of Kitchener with a score of 286. /.
