from London, England to say she has received at least
one copyof the paper, four days after the date of
publication. And we thought the poStal system was
slowing down!
Anhe and. Howard James and family of Egmondville
are presently visiting Liz and her daughter, Sadye, iii
England. •
Cal Caldwell of Egmondyille has arrived hotne from a
motor trip to northern Ontario.
Rev, and Mrs, R. H, Williams, Mt. Clemens,
Michigan and Mrs. Harold McLeod of London and
daughter Margaret and Mrs. Eric Schellenberger of
Clinton were weekend holiday guests'.of Mrs, Lillian
McKellar. '
Mr. and Mrs. Doug Keyes of Hamilton spent the
weekend with his parents Mr. and Mrs, James Keys in
McKillop. Their children Heather and Brian who have
been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Campbell
returned, with them. "

afternoon tea oh Friday in honour of their guest, Mrs.
Marten Brown of Toront9.
Mrs. Foster T. Fawler ef.Clinton spent several days
with ,Mr. and Mrs. John Pullman last week.
Mrs. Lillion GrummettelClinton was visiting friends
in town last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Crozier and family, of Kincardine -
and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Crozier, Harpurhdy, visited
relatives in Detroit over the holiday and attended the
Sprout Family Renuion in Farmington, Michigan..

Four years ago the word
"Motocross" meant little or
nothing to, most people in the%
brussels area. Today just
'mention it and action, mud,
motorcycles and the 'Mait-
land Dirt Riders 'of' Walton
come' to mind. Yes,, the"
annual two . day motorcycle
race at Walton is on August
19 and 20 and the Maitland
Dirt Riders' are now
preparing the track for an
even greater show than Iag
year. The 1977 race had more
riders and spectators than '
any other race in Ontario.
Organizers hope to up hold
this reputatiop by having an
even bigger and better race
in 1978 hopefully 500 riders
and the best track they will
ever"race.
Saturday, August 19, the
juniors supply lots of thrills
and spills as these un-
experienced riders attempt
to race down the breath- -
taking straightaways, over
the never ending jumps and
through the bottomless pit

Two of the Maintland Dirt
Riders who have conquered
the track are Kelvin James
and Rob Macintosh. Racing
'gets underway at 11:00 a.m.
Sunday's race is a dif-
ferent sotry. The best riders
from Canada 'and 'the
northern states will be there
to compete for $2,500.00
-prize money in the 4th round
of the . Molson Motorcross
series: The Senior and Ex-
ert racers will be battling for
points in the Molson series'
and contingency money from
'both the bike and high
nerformance "racing equip-
ment "Rianufacturers.
Walton hosts the pros on
the 20th, - like Jac Kimber
who is #2 in Canada at the
present 'time and Al Loge
who is third; with several
others that have just 're-
. turned 'from the Eurdkan
Spring circuit.
The Leo's of .Brussels will
again be flaging to raise
money for their club and the
Walton recreation committee
will be attending the re-
freshment. booth to raise
money for their institution,
The local ' St. John's
Ambulance will also be on
hand for the 2 day event.

Monday saw Mainstreet •
hang on to edge out the
Texaco Duffers. by. a 11-10
score:
Mainstreet, playing heads
up ball lately, opened a 1.0
first inning lead as errors
proved costly to the Duffers.
The iiptowners streached the
lead to 2-0 in the second' as
Bill Roberton's double pro-
vided the punch.
The third saw Ray Anstett
hit a two run homer to open a
4-0 lead for the „Maiiistreet.
lexaco finally hit the score ,
-board in the fohrth as lieb
Friendship hit a 3 run-homer
to narrowi the gap to 4-3.
Texaco took a short liv'ed
lead in the fifth as a- double

to play a make-up game
as the 'season grinds to a
close.

the Mainstreet and Teachers
finishing the evening. The
Turf Club will be responsible
