The novice class, for young people 12 to, 17 years of age, who were entering the judging com- petition for the first tune, had 37 competitors, Paul Hoggarth, R.R.2, Kippen, scored 688 pbints to place first in the class, arid/Jeff Feagan; R.R.4, Goderich, scored 683 to place second. The pre-4-H Class, open to young people 11 years old, had 16 competitors. In addition to the winners in the individual classes, various \ com- petitors were awarded special trophies in specific categories. John Van Vliet, R.R.2, Brus- sels,' won the United co- operatives of Ontario Trophy for 100. The runner-up Sharon was John Van Vliet, Brussels, who scored ,98 points.' The Cyanamid of Canada Award for the highest score in the sheep section was won by Steven Shelly, R.R.2, GOrrie, with a score of 9,6 out of a possible 100. ' The runners-up Were Gordon Alton, and John Van Vliet, who• both scored 9.6 points. The Huron Cattlemen's As- sociation Award for the highest score in the beef section was won by Jackie Brand, R.R.:3, Clinton; with a score of 96 points. The runner-9g was Lori Lynn Stewart, R.R.1, Kirkton, with a score of 95 points. The Winston Powell Award for the highest score in the horse section was won ;by .,..,„Carolyti Dinsmore, R.R.1, Fordwich, with a score of 94. The runner-up was There were 163 eompetitOrs in last weekend's, Huron County 4-H Livestock and Field Crops . Judging Cornpetitionbeld in the Seaforth arena. John Van Vliet, R.R.2, Brussels-1 was the top competitor in the senior overall judging class, scoring „793 points out of a possible 859 points. Alan Powe, R, R.2,, Centralia, placed second with a score of 783 points. There were 17 competitors in the class, from 18 to 30 years of age and 'it was open to -all those who are graduates of a two year diploma course in agriculture. The intermediate class, for young people 15 'to 17 years of age, had 57 competitors. The top competitor was Gordon Alton, R.R.7, Lucknow, ' who ' scored 756 out of a possible 850 pointS. Joyce Dougherty, R.R.6, Goderich, scored 750 points to place second. The junior class' attracted '36' the highest score in the entire competition. The runner-up was Alan Powe, R.R.2, Centralia, The Canadian' National Ex- hibition Shield to the high novice judge was awarded to Paul Hoggarth, R.R- 2, Kippen, The runner-up was Jeff Feagan, R.R.4, Goderich. The C.1.L. Trophy for the highest score in the swine section, was awarded to Gordon Alton, R.R.7, Lucknow, who scored 99 out of a possible 100 points. • The runners,-up were Oscar Meier, R.R.4, Brussels and David Townsend, R.R.4, Seaforth, who both scored 98 out of the possible 100 points.
