Although there was no survey

Warbles are an expensive
problem to the whole beef
industry because of lowered rate
of gain of cattle, lowered feed
efficiency and carcass damage.
Mr. Campbell --says warble
damage cost the meat packing
industry alone more than $2
million in 1977.
However,warble control is re-

treatments are applied in late fall
and early winter.

county council that he had been
king some thinking about

that certain "dirty" books be

This proposal is part of a
package announced by the Min-
ister iti which relaxation of some
laws and toughening of others
were the main ingredients, in an
attempt to achieve "a balanced
approach which provides the
progressive -measures the public
wants with sufficient safeguards
to prevent abuses".
At the same time, the legal
drinking age will be raised from
18, to 19 on September 1st. The
legislative package would provide
stiffer penalties for those who are
under the legal drinking age and
for licencees. who provide them
with alcoholic beverages.
Further, people will no longer

"And we all know what
happened after that," said
Krauter.
He asked how. many
councillors had read the books in-
question-The Diviners, The
Catcher in the Rye and Of Mice
and Men. '
Only 'Bayfield Reeve Ed
Oddleifson answered. Oddleifson
admitted he hadn't read the
books.
"But I've read the excerpts,"
said Oddleifson. He said the
writers of such books shouldn't
even be classed as authors, and
added that resorting to such
tactics. showed "a lack of good
taste."
No further action was taken .on
the matter.
