About 800 say they're
coming to centennial
There'll be lots of reminiscing
when Dublin holds its centennial
celebrations-- on the July 1
weeken.
Mrs. Joe Shea said about 700
invitations have been mailed out
to former residents of the town, or
to families who attended the high
school which was once in Dublin.
Mary Litwiller, community co-
ordinator, said there have been
262 returns to date, which

• have, indicated they'll be re-
turning to town for the
celebrations.
She said she has .received
responses from -California,
Florida, Michigan and Western
Canada.
Mrs. Shea said one 90 year old
former Dubliner who lives in
Seattle, Washington, has already
written to say he hopes to attend
the 'Centennial Celebrations.

Focus' on F ith programs was (
held at St. Patrick Is School in
Dublin Frid y night.
Previous programs of Focus on
Faith initiated by the Ontario
Separate Scrim?' Trustees'
Association, had been at area
levels--in St. Thomas and . in
London' and the last at the local
trustee, level in Dublin on
November 20.
The final phase on Friday was
at the school level with the
program put on for the' Dublin
area parents by the parents of
students, the principal and '
teachers. Over 80 ' persons

There wore group sessions, a
oancelebrated mass and a homily
by R,cv: Anthony Sondcrup of

Father Sonderup said we have
experienced a cultural shift. He
stated .'many values have
seemingly changed. He asked
"How do we as parents help our
children to come to grips with a
changing world?"
He said, "In reality the basic
values of love, our need for
acceptance,'has not changed and
so parents Who live out in their
lives the basic virtues of respect
for each other, love, committment
sacrifice in fact, are preparing
their children to meet the
challenges of the day.
'A panel of two priests, Father
Sonderup and Father Gordon Dill
of Dublin and a parent couple,,
Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Holland of
Stratford, dealt with a variety of
subjects and answered questions.

dustries and explained how they
were•made. Crafts included knit-
ting. crocheting,' macrame, paper
flowers. ceramics and puppetry.

E. Whitmore. These were the
words of Georges P. Vanier who
was Governor General of Canada.
Giving an autobiography of
George Vanier's life she said he
was a wonderful orator and had a
passion for what he felt was good
and true. He enlisted in 1914 and
while in service in Prance 1915
had lost a leg. so spent most of his
life handicapped'. Both he and, his
.wife were particularly concerned
for the care and rehabilitation of
the handicapped -and- -retarded
children, she said.

people." Program was convened
by Mrs. L. Carter and Mrs. H.
-Klaver. -Mrs. Caller chaired the
program and opened it with a
poem on "Mother's Day".
President Mrs. N. Riehl opened
the meeting with a poem,
welcomed everyone present and

50th anniversary dinner and for

projects and she has never missed
an Achievement Day.

(a) Statement of Revenue and Expenditure:
This statement reflects the revenues and expenditure of the revenue fund and the
following local boards: Walton Area Sports Club
Winthrop Community Centre
There are no 'municipal enterptises.consolidaterl in these' results.
(b) Statement of Capital Operations:
This statement reflects the capital expenditure of the municipality to be recovered
from the general municipal revenue of the municipality and its local boards as
described in note 1(a).
(c) Balance Sheet: •
This statement reflects the assets and liabilities of the revenue fund, the capital
fund, reserve funds and local boar& asde.seph-' cif' in note 1(.0.
(d) Fixed Assets:
The historical cost and accumulated depreciation of fixed assets is not reported for
municipal _purposes, lnstead.,,the -Capital outlay te be recovered in future years"
which is the aggregate of the principal portion of unmatured long term liabilities,
capital funds transferred to other organizations, and the cost of capital projects not
yet permanently financed is reported on the Balance Sheet. ,
• (e) Municipal Enterprises: .
" There are no municipal enterprise activities carried on by the municipality.
(f) Charges for Net Long Term Liabilities:
Debt 'retirement costs including principal and interest are charged against current
revenues in the periods in which they are paid. Interest charges are not accrued for
the periods froM the dates of the latest interest payments to the end of the financial
year.

general municipal revenues, as it is to be recovered in future years from other
