Dr. K. G. and Mrs. Stewart of Waterloo were recent guests of
the former's, father, Rev. J. lire and Mrs. Stewart..
Recent visitors with Rev. J, Ure and Mrs. Stewart were Miss
Bea IvICCIenaghan of Clinton and Mr. and Mrs. Benson Mole of
Dungannon.
Industrial Ball League players and fans who enjoyed
last weekend at a tournament in Seaforth's ,sister town, West
Branch, Michigan were:
Players - Doug Leonhart, 1011 Beuerman, Jerry Cooper, Bob
Beuttenmiller, Ken Roth, Bob McKellar, Rick Woods, Kevin
Bennett, Rick Fortune, Jack MeLlwain, Bill Price, Ben Akker,
Steve 1104, Gus Feeny,and Kevin Henderson. Manager was Fred
Burton, Coach Was Syd Wocks.
Fans included Bob Clark, Harry Cook, Kathy Cooper, Bonnie- ''
Fortune, Audrey MeLlwain, Gail Price, Arlene Akker, Fran Hook ,
Mary 'Henderson and •Pat Wocks.
An'item in the People column two weeks ago referred to the
appointment of a new director to. the board of The McKillop
MUtual Fire Insurance Company. Through an error the name
should have been that of Jelin A. Taylor, R.R .1, Brucefi'eld.
Greg McPherson, of Seaforth won top place in the grade 3
amateur march competition staged by the Western Branch of
the Pipers and Band Society of Ontario at Stratford on Saturday.
He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McPherson.

A local person who's interested in history made a quick check
'of the 86 businesses listed on the card phone directory which the
Expositor printed and provided free of charge to subscribers in
1964.36 of the 86 have disappeared since then and a number of
others have had changes of name and/or ownership. Amongthe
business ncilongee here are Irvin's Hardware, Neil Bell's Service
Station, Taylor's Beauty ' Shpppe and Harold Whyte-and Sons
Meat Market.

week was Karen Whitmore, who
works. at ARC Industries.
Karen .b egan her program by
passing a. tray of cookies from the
bakeshop at ARC, then she
explained her work and described
a "number of craft projects which
she .had on display. These
included 1(114611g.. crochet,
modgepodge,. macrame,, paper
flowers, ceramics' and puppetry.
Karen explained that there are
—about eight full-time instructors
and 53 employees working' at
ARC in the kitchen program,
maintenance, woodworking and
the bake shop. They do' contract
work as well as catering, and cake
decorating.
During Korea's presentation to
the I adies,Clive Buist entertained
the children„with some films.
Then Karen gave a puppet show
for the children while Clive
outlined the summer pi-Viral-10
planned by the Rec. office.
There will be an eight. week
play school for 3.7 year olds with
longer hours and extra Staff: A
teen program will feature an
athletic . 'competition with
Seaforth's tkn , town, West
Branch, Michigan. .
Y. ith the new pool heater at the
• Lion's 'Park, the swimming
season could .begin as. .early as
June 1. The wading pool._ will also
be heated and will; be. open every
Morning 'Out thanks Karen and

'The Dixie 'Flyers, a Bluegrass band trom
London, will be at Blyth Memorial Hall on
'Wednesday, May 24,• under the sponsorship
of the Blyth Centre for .the Arts.
The Flyers are the only group in Ontario
who regularly play bluegrass, music. The band
was formed ih 1974 and,..since then, _has
perforMed at the Carlisle Festival,
