WELL ATTENDED APPRECIATION NIGHT —
Members of police forces from across southwestern
Ontario were In attendance at a police appreciation
dance held at the Pineridge Chalet and sponsored by
district 31 of the Knights of Columbus. Discussing

Obituary
WILLIAM C.' MONTGOMERY
William Charles
Montgomery of Mitchell,
formerly of Winthrop died
suddenly on Wednesday, April
26, 1978 ,ftt the home of his
daug hter near Barrie;' Ontario in
his 75th year.
He was born in McKillop
Township, son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. John, A. Montgomery of
Winthrop_ _ aed _ received his '
education at Winthrop. and
Seaforth. He was married
October 4, 1940 to Alberta
Richmond of Morris Township
who predeceased him in April
1950.
He farmed for a number of
years in McKillop Township and
took a keen interest in sports
especially football, hockey and
hore racing, and trained race
horses in Ohio until his retire-
ment. • •
The. funeral service was held
froth the .Lockhart Funeral Home,
Montreal. St,, Mitchell on
Saturday, April 29th. The service
was conducted by •Rev. Donald
s with interment .in Maitland
Bank Cenietery. Seaforth.
The pallbearers were Messrs.
Arthur c., Alexander, Mervin
Pepper, Harry Rapson, Robert..
Berry, Jim MtLaughlin and Bruce
Hulley.
Survived by one daugahter
Jean of Barrie, one 'son John of,
Stratford, also five grandchildren.
Dear brother of Margaret (Mrs.
Sid McCullough) Blyth.
