They gradually persuaded some people Industrial The Men's Industrial ball team held their first draft meeting and set the schedule for„, the coming season. There will be some new faces this year as 20 new players' where picked up. Play will get underway this weekend as the men(boys) get limbered up.. Last season proved most interesting as the fourthy ' place' finishers, the firemen, won the Playoffs and this season looks even more fascinating as all teams picked up players. The Optimists are improving the diamond and the park for the . upcoming season so the players are ''figuring on improving their play. The Huron county Board of Education voted to ask the province to alter the school calendar so June 21, rather. than June 14, is the last day of school. Bruce Shaw, SDHS principal,, said teachers are drawing up,their final examination schedule now. The exams will begin on June 15 and terminate on June 21. Under • ministry • of education regulations, school must be over and all exam results in by the elid -of-June, so June 21 was the latest date to. which the : schOol year • could be extended, and still leave time for the exams to be marked. Also.. Mr. Shaw said students will. be, receiving theirs report cards in the next week.
