Junior lnstitnte, held : in , the
Olympia Restaurant, which used
to. • be above Larone's on
Scaforth's Main St. -
Thelma Dale. the local
' first life member, and the only
woman who's -been a member
continuously since 1928 read the
program from that night and .was
presented with a gift 'by' Helen
MacKenzie who outlined the
history of the Seaforth- branch.- •
Ruth Papple, vice president of
the' London area. chaired the
program.. which included a song
and piano solo by David Campbell
and step dancing by ' Debbie
Flynn. Slides of local places in nil
four seasons were shown by Ken
Papple.

celebrations, Helen. MacKenzie
• reminded members of some of the,
highlights of be last 50 years.
Mrs, MacKenzie said the in:

When the course was finished,
the women decided they shared a
common interest in homemaking,
and the Seaforth Junior ,Women's
Institute was: orn on Feb. 3, 1928
with Miss Dorothy Robinson' as,
the group's first president.
Three months later, Miss

London, was elected to fill the
