Mr, and Mrs Barry Day have returned
home from an extended visit to „different
points of Manitoba and the Northwest,
Mr, M. 13, Morden, who has been in the
Bank of Hamilton here for some time, has
beau transferred to the head office at Ham-
ilton.
J. S. Folmd and wife went to Wingham
on Saturday evening to visit friends, Mrs.

There was a Thanksgiving social held in
the Baptist ohurch, on Wednesday evening
last. The Rev. W. Pocock, of Clinton, de-
livered an address and a splendid pro-
granimo was rendered, after which refresh-
ments were served,
OKURCR ROTES.
The Bishop of Huron will hold confir•
maticn services in St. Paul's Church on
Sunday, October 24th. and will preach
both morning and evening.
Rev. W. Lowe will conduct harvest -
thanksgiving services in Lucknow on Sun-
day next.
The Women's Foreign Missionary Soci-
ety of the Presbyterian Church will meet
on Wednesday afternoon next. A thank
offering will be taken up at the meeting.'
Rev. D, Perrie will preach a sermon on
Sunday evening neat, in the Presbyterian
Church, which will be of special interest.to
young people. Ail young people aro cor-
dially invited to be present.
The tenth annual convention of the
Dominion W. 0. T: U., will be held in
Toronto on October 20th, 21st and 22nd.
On next Sunday, October 10th, the Con-
gregational Church will hold harvest
home services, morning and evening. A
thank offering will be taken up, and the
pastor, Rev. H. E. Mason, will preach ser-
mons appropriate to the occasion.
