Carroll Residence

'Built in 1875 two storey white
brick, In 1880 an addition at .the
-rear, (south 'west)' was built and
the verandahs on both sides of the
front entrance were later removed
and the, enclosed east side porch
was added. The builder and
original owner w\as .Philip Snarl-
ing. It was. originally a square
plamitalianate hasp, now in
"T" ' shape. through the. 1880
addition. The front elevation has,
a central two storey projection
containing The, front 'entrance.
Narrow doors on both sides of_ the
front projection led to the original
front verandahs. The ‘front door
has a round headed Tuscan form..
