-a living, breathing person we find
ourselves jiv'ing and working in a
relationship with others. There
we are involved, especially when
we take our responsibilities as a
social' being, seriously. -When
death occurs it not only involves
me as a person but the others •
with whom I have been actively
associated. My separation from
this community through death
leaves others having to walk
through their feelings about the
communal relationship we had
together. Working 'through this
process is not always easy or
tolerable. and may ,require the
services of a. health worker or
pastor. Don't be afraid to talk to
one of them about your concerns.
Many find it difficult to
conceptualize the ra nsitional
process eriFYent. Some' explain it
away as a niystery. The Bible has
many expressions attesting-to the
• termination of • the, human
relationship, . In the inter-
teStimental period between the
Old and New Covenant, lhe
doctrine of the resurrection came
to the fore to help alleviate some,
of the stress caused by the
termination event. This turned
out to be a positive affirmation
which was futuristic and forward
looking.
The Master teacher '
' emphasized the importance of
life-2-6f looking above' mid beyond
thPpresent circumstance to a new
Feiationship, experience or
fellowship. It. is the principle of
putting off•the old and •putting•oh
the new. Because I have worked
with people who have experience
a change of lifestyle and achieved
rehabilitation, recovery or
resurrection to a better life here,
it gives me confidence to believe
that the death •event could well be
the forerunner "Or - something
