The plans for the Trivitt Mem-
orial Murals, Exeter, were on ex-

beloneing to Mr. James Eliott, of
Fairfi'eld, became uneasy and
broke loose from a tie poet in,
front of Dr. Brownings' drug store

Messrs Swallow Bros,pumpmak-
ers,Exeter, have had their delivery
wagon repaired and painted, and
it looks as good as new. Mr. D.
Braund of Exeter north, did the

ectorate of the South Huron,

Societies held here last Saturday,

of our boys may and should be
so directed and cultivated, as to

The regular meeting of Exeter

the busines$ of the lodge had been
fully disposed of, the lodge closed
in due farm. The order of the
Royal Blue was then open and
two brethren were Admitted
to the mysteries of the order;
after which the Order of the Roy-
al Arch Purple was opened, and
four brethren were then fully ad-
mitted to the mysteries of the
grand and noble deeree. The
exeter Lodge, although at pile
time in a very bad condition, we
are happy to say is mew in a Very
healthy and thriving COOtlition.
Neatly every night applreations
are received feremenshership, and

The tea meeting and straw-
berry festival given in Caven
Presbyterian. Church last Friday
evening, was not so largely attend
ed as on former occasions of the
same kind, owing tn heavy and
incessant rains which prevailed at
the time, making it almost impos-
sible for any one to attend ; still
a goodly number attended and
spent a most enjoyable and social
time. The edibles prepared by
,the ladies, together, with abun-
dance el fine strawberries and
cream, was freely partaken of,
,ancl the inner man amply supplied

:things provided, the people assem-
bled in thebocly of the church,
where they were entertained by
suitable. and interesting addresses
from prominent speakers. The

The Veceter Advocate has made
its appearances The Advocate
ia the very antipodesof the Reflec-
tor. It is an out-and-out prohib-
itionist, Reform in politics, and
if it continues as it has begun, it
is going to be one of the local
papers of the province that takes
the trouble to get local news. The
4dvocate is a decided advance on
its predecesson—S1. Marys Ar US
Mr O. have reeeived the first num
ber of the Exeter Advocate, a new
Liberal paper started in that place
by Mr. Passmore, late of Blyth,;
it gives a large ailment of fresh
reading mattete and will, no doubt
fill the gap in the Liberal cause
there; the townspeople should
give it the generous patronege its
hard WO l'k ng publisher deserves.—
